Touchstone Glazing / About

Innovation built on tradition

Based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, Touchstone Glazing specialises in thermally efficient solutions for listed and heritage buildings. Our patented Insulead® and Steelyte® systems combine traditional craftsmanship with modern performance, protecting historic fabric while improving insulation. Every project reflects our dedication to conservation, innovation and enduring quality.

Crafting Solutions for Historic Buildings

As craftsmen and environmentalists since the early eighties, we became frustrated by the basic truth that it was not possible to enjoy the beauty of authentic leaded lights, direct glazing and steel windows whilst at the same time insulate historic buildings to the level required by the environmentally conscious.

Insulead® and Steelyte® are specifically designed to protect historic fabric, improve comfort and reduce environmental impact. At Touchstone, every window reflects our passion for heritage, skilled craftsmanship and a commitment to preserving traditional skills for future generations.

Innovation Rooted in Tradition

Our patented Insulead®system was developed to double-glaze historic and listed buildings without altering their original fabric. Frameless, fully soldered and made with traditional materials, it preserves the character of every window while delivering modern thermal efficiency.

For opening casements, Steelyte®stainless steel windows offer narrow sightlines, high performance and maintenance-free operation. Both systems are BFRC ‘A++’ rated, accepted by Historic England for Grade I, II* and II listed buildings and represent our commitment to innovation that respects heritage.

“At Touchstone, we are innovators in glazing, delivering high-quality solutions with excellence at the heart of everything we do, from customer service to the finished product.”
