Touchstone Glazing / Working With You

Conservation Officers

We offer a holistic and innovative approach when working on historic buildings ensuring that the historic value is protected for future generations.

Protection of the Building

As craftsmen in the heritage window industry, we believe the best way to protect historic buildings is to save historic skills and for these buildings to be used.

Therefore, all our products are designed with the protection of historic buildings with paramount importance. Everything we offer is fully reversible with no modification to the existing fabric of the building required. Our Insulead® glazing fits where the original was located and is made by our skilled craftsmen using only traditional materials and methods.

Our Steelyte®opening casements incorporate a polymer edging in order to protect the stonework. Made of stainless steel throughout they have been designed to look almost indistinguishable from the original.

Our aim is to always maintain and reuse as much of the original material as possible. We can provide replica window furniture using 3D printing technology for casting.

Examples of listed building projects

Touchstone has built up an unrivalled reputation in the development and care of historic windows within the conservation world.

Due to the careful design of our products and the understanding we have of how historic buildings function, we are very proud of the fact that our products have been accepted in Grade I, Grade II* and Grade II Listed buildings and world Heritage sites.
