Touchstone Glazing / Working with You

For Architects

We can provide additional drawings, technical specification sheets and samples to assist with Architect’s plans and projects.

CPD Workshops

We offer informal CPD workshop visits and also online CPD workshops which will showcase old skills such as leaded light manufacture/repair and painted & fired work necessary for maintaining and refurbishing historic windows. Alongside this you will see our new innovation in double glazing which allows historic buildings to be upgraded to modern insulation standards whilst protecting the fabric of the building and maintaining the beauty and subtly of the of the original.

We aim to provide innovative glazing solutions for Architects and Specifiers who particularly work on historic buildings. The tour will include some entertaining stories of glass making and a chance to see some beautiful old stained glass. For our in-person visits you can have a go at glass cutting and some soldering, we will also demonstrate how we use 3D printing technology in window restoration and development.  We do provide complimentary refreshments and lunch.

Drawings

Our patented double glazing system has been designed as a solution for enhancing the thermal efficiency of historic buildings and is also suitable for new builds within Building Regulation requirements. It offers the slimmest of sight-lines. Out of square and tracery windows are easily accommodated using our Insulead®. Our Steelyte®opening casements are made from 304 stainless steel which is all but immune to corrosion and once fitted are virtually maintenance free.

Site Visits

As a company, we understand how important it is to get the windows right on a building as they can make or break the overall look of a building and realise how difficult this decision can be for clients. Therefore, we are more than happy to attend site visits, where we can bring samples and offer glazing solutions.

We also understand that when working on a listed building it can be necessary to meet up with conservation officers or representatives from Historic England. We are more than happy to offer this as part of our service. Providing drawings and advice to help with your listed building application.
