Windows for Converted Churches

Brilliant in both craftmanship and size, churches can make a lovely family home. We have been lucky enough to work on many church and chapel conversions and it has always been a pleasure to see our windows being installed. Either making new windows or repairing the existing ones, we are always happy to assist.

Bespoke Glazing

Due to the bespoke nature of our glazing, we can accommodate any size or shaped window. This makes our glazing system especially useful when it comes to church windows. This means no modification to the stonework of the building is needed which is especially helpful when it comes to older historic churches and chapels.

Fine Sightlines

Windows for churches

Churches do not tend to have wide windows with a lot of light taken up by the stone mullions and transoms. It is important when converting a church into a home to let as much light through as possible. Our fixed windows have a sightline that can be as low as 20mm which maximises light and heat.

No alterations are required and by glazing straight onto the stonework, the architecture and appearance of the church remain intact.

Stained Glass

When converting a church, it’s always fantastic if you're able to maintain the stained glass windows. We are able to remove any existing stained glass, clean and restore and then encapsulate the glass into a double glazed window. This not only protects the existing church windows but will improve the thermal efficiency of the converted church.

Making a church a home

We at Touchstone love assisting with any historic building project. Our windows have been designed to protect the fabric of the building and without any modification to the original stonework needed. We have successfully completed glazing works for Churches, Chapels, Town halls and Castles. All of which have individual requirements but the same overall need to protect the building, its structure and its history.
