“We cannot thank everyone involved in the planning, production, delivery, and installation of our windows enough.
Not only were they the only company not to shy away from offering double glazing to our tracery elements of the windows, but as the terracotta mullions proved to be both unusual and quite a journey for all involved. Touchstone did not shy away from the issues and constantly reassured and sought solutions.
They complement the existing church structure and it’s aged beauty; they enhance rather than dominate yet they stand out in their own right.

The Albion Crowne glazing reflects light so beautifully that our neighbours are convinced that they have the best views. Our kitchen is now like The Crystal Palace and when the sun floods through the tracery, the patterns that fill the room are breathtaking. Nobody has seen anything like it before and if anyone is ever in doubt, just send them to Fakenham and they will soon be convinced.

“Eyam is one of the most visited villages in the Peak District National Park and Eyam Dale House is a large prominent property in the centre of the village of Eyam.

With over a hundred original leaded light windows set in stone mullions, we carefully considered all options as part of the properties refurbishment.

Touchstone were the only replacement double glazed windows which captured the original look.

They looked correct from the outside and inside and of course open nicely (which the original ones didn’t) along with the much improved thermal rating.

The installers took care and pride in the project which was very important in minimising damage to the old stone mullions.”

As you know The Stone Room is where the main events are held at Lingholm and it was important the windows correctly reflected the historic character of the room, they are absolutly perfect and we are particularly pleased with the aged process applied to the outside of the glass as it gives them a period feel. The room is also much warmer with double glazed units and no gaps around the frames.

We have already had numerous comments about how good the windows look and we look forward to getting the windows replaced on the main stairs as soon as we have Listed Building consent.

“I just wanted to say how delighted I am with my windows. They look absolutely stunning inside and out and I have to admit I actually burst out crying when I saw the first window installed. They totally transformed my home and I can’t thank you enough.

From the outside, the anthracite frames melt into the building so nothing detracts from the stonework. Inside every opening is like a framed picture and the quality of the frames, handles and stays make them a pleasure to open and shut. I am also pleased that I opted for the kiln finished glass. In the sunshine, the panes act like mirrors with dancing reflections of surrounding trees and fields. It looks incredibly beautiful and also provides more privacy inside the house.

On a more practical note, the sound-proofing quality of the Krypton gas has really surprised me. I was concerned the 16mm units would mean more noise from the road. Instead, I can hardly hear a thing!

Throughout the installation process, The lads worked incredibly long hours. Richard’s craftsmanship and attention to detail were superb and it was lovely to see him passing on his years of knowledge and experience to Adam. They are both a credit to you and it was a pleasure to have them in my home. In fact, I said to Richard that you have all played as big a part in restoring my home to its former glory as I have.

It will be almost 5 years since I first asked you for a quote on my windows.
