Touchstone Windows

The lead Window

Lead has been used in window manufacturing dating back to the 15th century. Traditionally, it has been used for single glazed leaded lights which are small pieces of glass joined together with lead. Lead itself as a material is widely used today for a number of applications and mechanisms. This is due to its great properties such as density, weight and malleability. With this in mind, we developed and patented the Insulead® window.

Narrow Sightlines

Touchstone’s slim window profile has become a popular solution for stone mullion glazing situations. Stone mullion windows are often narrow by definition and therefore it is vital such as Insulead® has a minimal sightline. This is particularly important when it comes to replacement glazing for historic buildings where there is a need to replace a single glazed window with virtually no sightline.

Insulead® is a thermally efficient solution which not only solves this problem but also allows for any movement of the structure helping to protect the fabric of the building. Our windows are chosen not only for their historic appeal but for quality, strength and durability.

Natural Finish

Lead naturally patina’s overtime producing a living finish. The result is virtually no upkeep or maintenance for your windows. A benefit that is greatly appreciated over time.

Our windows look just as good as they did when they were first fitted.

An Opening Casement made to last

We wanted to create a opening casement that stood the test of time, whether it was used for a new build on the coast or placed in a 200 year old historic building. With this in mind, we designed Steelyte®, a stainless steel and powder coated frame that is pleasing to the eye but made to last.

Shaped Glazing

The unique ability of our Insulead® system allows us to double-glaze to any shaped opening. This is ideal when it comes to shaped top windows in historic buildings or complex tracery elements.

Glass Distortion

Our very own Albion Crowne® glass creates a historic and beautiful appearance for any building. The subtle effect of aged antique glass always creates a lasting impression.

Touchstone Glazing Solutions product portfolio now includes a choice of windows and doors, shaped windows, decorative screens, encapsulation and various types of glass. All our products are designed and manufactured in-house with the same quality and hand-made precision as our first ever window.
